Gifty's All-New X-Com Soundtrack!
After 100+ hours of OpenXcom, I began seeing the game in my sleep; likewise, a complete backup of the soundtrack had been created permanently in my head. Thinking how nice it would be to hear something new (you can only tolerate GMINTER so many times), I decided to write a full soundtrack replacement (sans-intro music). I am proud to say that it's finished and ready for the community's gorgon stare!
Below is a zip of the full soundtrack. You know the drill -- extract the "data" folder to your OpenXcom directory, so that it overwrites the "data" folder already in there.

The new music, constructed exclusively with old Amiga samples dumped into a modern DAW, is modeled after the tracker-based soundtracks of the 90s; stuff like Jazz Jackrabbit, Crusader: No Remorse, Unreal, etc. I had initially tried to write an X-Com soundtrack using modern synths (and may yet), but found this tracker style much easier and a better fit for such an old game.
Below are a few leftover tracks from the project; some are extended cuts, and some whole outtakes. If you please, you can stick them in your game with some simple renaming!
